You can improve yourself by learning more and more, but you can also jump in and just figure it out. Last week we had 23 users playing on Saturday. We are keeping this game alive by scheduling regular games every Saturday. I have never played a game with this much collaborative strategy before and since Savage 2. Each player's ideas and ability to work together will contribute to the composition of a team's strategy. There is a lot of potential from game-to-game for unique strategies and the game does not get stale because the players are different each time.

Still, Savage 2 is certainly worth a download and it is a great effort from an independent developer at a cheap price. There are a couple of problems with the game that keep it from earning a perfect score: occasional but annoying lag and the lack of a manual. Savage 2 feels like Enemy Territory: Quake Wars: a couple of innovations makes for an interesting game, though I would say Savage 2 is a bit more original.
Savage 2 is simply different and refreshing, something that sets it apart from more conventional games like Call of Duty 4. When players are working together, the gameplay parts of Savage 2 assemble nicely to produce an exciting gameplay experience. Savage 2 reduces stalemating through finite gold supplies and increased respawn times for losing teams. The online stat tracking (including replays of every game ever) and in-game experience model infuses some role-playing into Savage 2. If that isn't the case, it may be more helpful to convert the current discussion into a fresh thread reviewing what's still accessible from the list brought up by the reddit post referenced in the linked SG thread above, or finding a similar non-inactive compilation thread to bump with the information, since it's a bit hard to justify this being in the Deals forum (versus General) on its own (if it's actually unplayable and doesn't provide cards).The specific classes require good teamwork in order to be successful. More broadly, its free status has been mentioned a couple of times in general discussion within SG in the past, to little response, and there has been at least one compilation thread that has referenced its status before now (though in fairness, that one's a 2012 thread noting that the game is perma-free off-of-steam). I seem to recall that this has been free to claim through SteamDB since 2014, which I believe is when it was removed for purchase from Steam, and I'm finding posts from that year that support that recollection by mentioning the same.ĪFAIK, there weren't any cards or working servers in the past (though, checking again now, there's a 2021 post suggesting a bot server was put up at that time, though no telling if that's still up now), which is presumably why it was omitted from SG's past free Steam game compilation threads.
